On November 22nd 2007, Maurice Béjart dies. Gil Roman brilliantly takes over. On the occasion of the December 2008 parties, he performed a cover of Around the world…, as well as two of his own works: Aria,and Le Casino des esprits. He also played two duets: Fauves by Jean-Christophe Maillot with Bernice Coppieters as partner, and The Place by Mats Ek, in which Mikhaïl Baryshnikov faces Ana Laguna. This definitely is a turning point! The 39 BBL’s dancers, originating from 15 different countries, are acclaimed around the world with over a hundred performances each year.
