Lise de la salle, born in 1988, starts studying the piano at the age of 4. She gives her first concert live on Radio France when she was only 9, and makes her debut with orchestra in the Piano Concerto No. 2 by Beethoven at the age of 13.
Since 2001, she is pursuing an impressive international career and performing in the major conert halls of Europe: the Berlin Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the Metropolitan Art Space in Tokyo, the Met Museum in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. She collaborates, among others, with the conductors James Conlon, Fabio Luisi, Philippe Herreweghe, Charles Mackerras, Marek Janowski, Semyon Bychkov, Lawrence Foster.
In 2009-2010, she performes at the Musikverein in Vienne, the Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, the Conservatoire in Moscow, theThéâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo.
She is frequently invited to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester in Berlin, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre national de France, the Wiener Symphoniker, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra…
His first disc (Ravel, Rachmaninov), recorded at the age of 14 with Naïve signals the beginning of her collaboration with the French label. Her second album (Bach, Liszt), is awarded “CD of the Month” by Gramophone in 2004. Then, in 2007, together with Lawrence Foster and the Gulbenkian Orchestra, she records a third album, Concertos n° 1 (Chostakovitch, Liszt, Prokofiev), awarded “CD of the Month” once again by Gramophone. In 2008, she releases a new album, (Mozart, Prokofiev), including a DVD (Lise de la Salle, Majeure !) realized by Jean-Philippe Perrot and awarded “Editor’s Choice” by Gramophone, and “BBC Music Magazine Choice” by BBC Music Magazine. In 2010, she records the Concerto No. 2 by Chopin with the Dresden Staatskapelle and Fabio Luisi, as well as the four Ballades.
Between 1998 and 2006 she works with Pascal Nemirovski and attends Bruno Rigutto’s master classes at the CNSMD in Paris. Madame Geneviève Joy-Dutilleux has been her long-time mentor.
