Biography

Born in Japan and studied at the Tokyo National University for Fine Arts and Music and at the Musikhochschule in Munich. She came to international attention in her performances at the 2002 Münchener Opern Festspielen and the Bayreuther Festspiele and has since regularly appeared at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala Milano, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayreuther Festspiele, Theatre du Chatelet, Theatro Real Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino und Aix-en-Provence Festival. Miss Fujimura's operatic repertoire includes Kundry, Brangäne, Venus, Fricka, Carmen, Amneris, Eboli, Azucena, Melisánde, Idamante and Octavian.
