2018-2019
Tugan Sokhiev makes two tours with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra: the first with the Bolshoi Chorus and the second at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Philharmonie Hamburg and the Waldbühne in Berlin. At the head of the Vienna Philharmonic, he also performed on tour in Dresden and Cologne. He also conducts the NHK and Finnish radio symphony orchestras.

Tugan Sokhiev has toured Europe with the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He has also toured many times at the head of the Orchestre national du Capitole: Europe, Russia, South America, Asia, United Arab Emirates, etc.
Discography
With the ONCT, five recordings for Naïve, the latest being a Stravinsky record, with The Firebird and Le Sacre du Printemps. In 2018 a CD of Beethoven's complete piano concertos with pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja will come out on the Easonus label. A first DVD was published in 2017 with EuroArts: Beethoven's Concerto for violin, The Wooden Prince by Bartók and Brahms' Symphony N°1 (with the violinist Vadim Gluzman). A second DVD will appear in 2018: Berlioz' Requiem recorded at the Bolshoi Theatre (with the tenor Saimir Pirgu and the Bolshoi Chorus). With the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester de Berlin, two recordings for Sony Classical: Ivan the Terrible by Prokofiev in 2014, and a Prokofiev disk (Symphony n°5 and Scythian Suite) en 2016.
Operatic repertoire
Tugan Sokhiev begins in 2002 at the Welsh National Opera with La Bohème. In 2004, he makes his French debut at the Aix-en-Provence Festival with L’Amour des trois oranges, that he subsequently conducts in Luxembourg and at the Teatro Real in Madrid. In 2006, he is invited to Houston Grand Opera for Boris Godunov. He conducts The Queen of Spades (2010) and Boris Godunov (2012) at the Vienna Staatsoper. In 2017, he returns to the Aix-en-Provence Festival to direct a concert version of Eugene Onegin, with the Orchestra and Chorus of the Bolshoi Theatre. At the Théâtre du Capitole, he conducts The Queen of Spades, Iolanta, Betrothal in a Monastery, Tosca and Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci. At the Bolshoi Theatre, he conducts among others Katerina Ismaïlova, La Damnation de Faust, Carmen, Le Voyage à Reims and The Maid of Orleans en 2016/2017, then The Maid of Pskov (concert version) by Rimsky-Korsakov and The Queen of Spades in 2017/2018.
Distinctions
In 2005, his performance at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées with the Orchestre national du Capitole wins him the title of "Musical Revelation of the Year" from the "Syndicat de la critique Théâtre, Musique et Danse". In 2014, the "Syndicat de la critique" votes him "Musical personality" in the instrumental category. In 2013, Tugan Sokhiev is promoted to Chevalier in the Ordre National du Mérite.
