The Christopher Nupen Collection (64)

Intimate Portraits with Major Artists
The great Christopher Nupen, a close friend of medici.tv who changed the field of classical music filmmaking forever, passed away on February 19. As the entire classical community mourns the loss of this trailblazing documentarian, we are honored to bring you his complete filmography below—as well as Listening through the Lens, a film about Nupen's incredible life and career.

Through close relationships with the artists themselves and by showing aspects of music and music-making that are not generally accessible even to the concert-going public, Christopher Nupen produced an incomparable body of work: intimate portraits and concert footage of legendary performers like Jacqueline du Pré, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Daniel Barenboïm, Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, Zubin Mehta, Nathan Milstein, Andrés Segovia, Isaac Stern, Evgeny Kissin, and more… Nupen's films are now considered classics, animated by his attention to detail, boundless humanity, and evident love for classical music and the artists who make it.
