When I first applied to work at medici.tv four years ago, I was finishing my studies in translation and looking for an internship. After a promising first interview, I was given a sample concert to write about in order to show my stuff, and the program happened to include Sibelius's Symphony No. 7. I had never heard the piece before, so I took the time to listen to it all the way through — and I was absolutely floored by the music and the nearly indescribable mix of emotions it made me feel, a blend of great power and great vulnerability. I still feel them when I listen today, which is why this symphony will always hold a special place in my medici.tv story and in my heart.
