Fathers of Music (8)

Much of the world will celebrate Father's Day this Sunday, including all of us at medici.tv! Which is why we’ve prepared a selection by indispensable "father figures" of music history, just in time for the occasion. You'll find, among others, Papa Haydn—known as the father of the symphony and the string quartet, due the quantity and quality of his work in those genres—and, of course, Bach (the "father of classical music") and his son C.P.E Bach, even more famous in his day than his father. And finally Mozart, whose genius was able to prosper thanks to the training and guidance of his father Leopold. In addition, check out 10 operas with unforgettable father figures who drive the plots along, for better or for worse: Rigoletto, Il Commendatore, Wotan, Alberich, Don Magnifico, and Pinkerton ...
