Under the baton of maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto, the young musicians of Carnegie Hall’s NYO2 program and fellows of the New World Symphony play on the prestigious stage of the New World Center. Together they take audiences on a journey from the early 20th century to today with works by Falla and Stravinsky and Gabriela Montero, who takes on the roles of both composer and pianist in her improvisation on the Piano Concerto No. 1, "Latin". NYO2 is an orchestral training program for young musicians ages 14 to 17 years old. It aims to recruit musicians who come from communities that have been traditionally underrepresented in the classical music world.
