The Danish National Symphony Orchestra play Nielsen's Symphony No. 4 "Inextinguishable" An award-winning Nielsen cycle with Fabio Luisi

About

Fabio Luisi and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra offer a sublime performance of Carl Nielsen's “Inextinguishable” Symphony, winner of the prestigious Gramophone Award in 2023! Composed during the First World War, this work is a powerful ode to life in the face of the unyielding and indestructible forces of nature. The composer’s skillful transitions between phrases and movements carry us along this “sort of symphony in one movement,” coined by Nielsen himself. To round out the program, Nielsen delights us with his virtuosic Clarinet Concerto performed by Johnny Teyssier (principal clarinetist of the orchestra) and the symphonic poem Pan og Syrinx.
