Discover this rare footage from 1985 featuring Evgeny Svetlanov conducting Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, “Little Russia”. Under his baton is the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR, an ensemble he led for 35 years. The great maestro made conducting world-renowned ensembles in the Russian repertoire his life’s work... from Scriabin, Glinka, and Glazunov to Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, and, last but not least, Tchaikovsky, whose complete symphonies he conducts in this series of archival concert recordings.
