The Berliner Philharmoniker’s yearly Silvesterkonzert (New Year’s Concert) is one of the most beloved traditions in the world of classical music, bringing the superlatively distinguished orchestra to the concert stage with legendary conductors and soloists to ring in the new year. On December 31, 2001, maestro and pianist Daniel Barenboim led (and performed in) “Invitation to the Dance,” a perfect way to celebrate any festive occasion!

From a Baroque-era Gavotte by Bach to waltzes by Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and Strauss, and from Eastern European folk-inspired dances by Kodály and Dvořák to Argentinian tangos and a Brazilian choro song, you’ll love these marvelously spirited renditions of dances from across countries and centuries.
