Gergely Madaras conducts Beethoven and Strauss — With Júlia Pusker Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège: 2024-25 season opener

About

A rollicking, picaresque, and utterly delightful program awaits as the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège and their musical director Gergely Madaras open the 2024-25 season (Madaras's last with the OPRL before Lionel Bringuier takes the reins), accompanied by dazzling Hungarian violinist Júlia Pusker, who gets the season underway with Beethoven's Violin Concerto. Later, Madaras and the OPRL take on two highly spirited tone poems by Richard Strauss, following the romantic adventures and misadventures of the titular womanizer in Don Juan (the composer's first great success), and finishing amid great mirth with the "merry pranks" of German folk hero Till Eugenspiegel in Till Eugenspiegels lustige Streiche.
