Superstar tenor Juan Diego Flórez takes on the greatest roles of the bel canto repertoire with the young musicians from Sinfonía por el Perú and acclaimed conductor Ana María Patiño-Osorio! Join them for a veritable operatic voyage, from the powerful dramatism of Bellini’s I Capuleti e I Montecchi and the grandeur of Verdi’s Jérusalem to the raucous can-can from Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld.
Sinfonía por el Perú is a non-profit organization founded by Juan Diego Flórez, committed to generating social transformation through the collective teaching of music. It involves six thousand young Peruvians who are encouraged to learn an instrument or sing in a choir. Musicians from the orchestral program have performed at the Salzburg, Gstaad, and Lucerne Festivals, and join Juan Diego Flórez in this concert.
