Nelson Goerner plays Beethoven and Chopin Verbier Festival 2009

About

Experience sonatas by Beethoven and Chopin in the hands of pianist Nelson Goerner! His brilliant performance is woven through with the freshness and vivacity for which the Argentinian musician has become known.

He plays first a great Classical sonata, Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 26 in E-flat Major, Op. 81a, “Les Adieux”, then a great Romantic sonata, Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3 in B Minor, Op.58. A highlight comes in the Largo of Chopin’s Sonata, when Nelson Goerner fully transports his audience into the intimate universe of Chopin’s music. Goerner follows with excerpts from the Polish composer’s Études.
