Philippe Mouratoglou in recital La Piccola Scala, Paris

About

Guitarist Philippe Mouratoglou performs a centuries-spanning, 100% Italian recital at La Piccola Scala in Paris! In the middle of this intimate amphitheatre illuminated in shades of blue, Mouratoglou interprets a wide-ranging and fully enchanting program that takes us from the Ricercare by lutist Francesco da Milano (16th century) to the Introduction & Caprice by Guilio Regondi (19th century) and more modern compositions by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Nuccio d'Angelo (20th century). In every measure of this Italian guitar panorama, Mouratoglou shows off the many facets of his artistry, occasionally using open tunings that imbue his music with a particular charm. As a bonus at the end, he also offers up two superb encores of a completely different style…
