Isaac Stern, Cho-Liang Lin, Jaime Laredo, Michael Tree, Yo-Yo Ma, and Sharon Robinson... six musicians of international renown came together on stage in December 1989 to rehearse and perform Brahms’s two sextets. The works predate his quartets and quintets, with the first sextet being greeted with immediate success and earning the nickname “Spring Sextet”.
