About

A festive evening of glorious musical Romanticism awaits at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam Opening Night! The orchestra kicks off its 2018-2019 season with German conductor Thomas Hengelbrock on the podium, leading an exciting evening that features effervescent overtures by Berlioz and Rossini (Roman Carnival and The Barber of Seville!), Mendelssohn’s passionate “Italian” Fourth Symphony, ballet music from Verdi’s Otello, and the peerless Russian pianist Evgeny Kissin in a performance of Liszt’s First Piano Concerto.
