With the generous support of Madame Aline Foriel-Destezet
Young violinist Daniel Lozakovich joins forces with the celebrated Münchner Philharmoniker under the direction of Valery Gergiev to take on Beethoven's superlative—and only!—Violin Concerto in D major. Next comes Mahler's Fifth Symphony, a work characterized as much by its emphasis on orchestral polyphony as by its lack of vocal soloists, typically a trademark of the composer's symphonic works. From its poignant, nearly desperate funeral march to its brilliant chorale, the symphony is an exploration of the breadth of human emotion.
