A tribute to Luciano Berio With the Ensemble Itinéraire

About

Great genius of electroaccoustic music, Luciano Berio left a tremendous impact on the evolution of late 20th century music. Boulez, Ligeti and Stockhausen were his contemporaries. He founded with his compatriots Bruno Maderna and Luigi Nono one of the most inventive artistic movement in post-world war Italy in 1954 in Milan.

This movie is a deep immersion into the composer's sound space through the interpretation of the Ensemble Itinéraire, specialist of Berio's work. Images from director Andy Sommer enhance the mystery and the strength of these uncanny and bewitching sounds.
