About

The film accompanies the world famous mezzo-soprano Vesselina Kasarova on her journey into her homeland Bulgaria. It shows the singer at recordings with the Bulgarian Women's Choir Cosmic Voices in the capital Sofia. The Bulgarian women's choirs with their unique, often even dissonant sound are admired and celebrated everywhere. Parallel to the shootings with the Cosmic Voices, Vesselina Kasarova travels through Bulgaria. She visits her conservatory and the burnt down opera in her hometown Stara Zagora. She participates in an orthodox service and finally visits a rustic celebration where she dances a wild 'Choro'. Thereby, Vesselina Kasarova reflects on her occupation and her life in the footlights.
