A tribute to the great ballet dancer and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev.
As written and directed by Sonia Paramo, this biographical documentary profiles Rudolf Nureyev, widely regarded as one of the most formidable ballet dancers in history. The program embarks on a chronological overview of Nureyev's life, beginning with his birth on the Trans-Siberian express, then moving forward in time to chronicle his meteoric ascent to celebrity, his triumphs at the Paris Opera, and even his clowning around with Miss Piggy on The Muppet Show in the late 1970s – before moving into the last thirteen years of his life and his death from AIDS in 1993.
In telling this story, the movie director Sonia Paramo draws from a combination of elements including archival footage, interviews, dramatic reenactments and original dance sequences.
