Guided by the musicians of the Suisse Romande Orchestra, children are introduced to the percussion family that punctuates this mesmerizing concert, which notably includes pieces from Harry Potter, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Baba Yaga. Mystery and symphony soar through the air!
Launched in 2003, the project takes place in the rehearsal rooms of the OSR under the guidance of some of the orchestra members. Children can not only see the instruments, listen to them and touch them... most importantly, they can play them! They also have the chance to attend a concert that blends the main themes of witchcraft into the traditional symphonic repertoire.
With the commentary of teacher and conductor Philippe Béran, who heads the OSR, they can discover how the instruments gave birth to suspense, thrills and emotions. The musical talents of John Williams, Anatole Liadov or Stravinsky conjure up Harry Potter, Baba Yaga and the Sorcerer Kastcheï.
