At the Jazzahead festival 2019, vocal jazz is brilliantly showcased during Der Weise Panda’s performance. The band’s singer, Maika Küste, learnt the flute and singing in her native Germany, and won the Sparda Jazz Award with her bandmates in 2015. Her warm and silky voice magnificently echoes on-stage in Bremen.

The ensemble consists of pianist Felix Hauptmann, cellist Talia Erdal, bassist Yannik Tiemann, and drummer Anthony Greminger. The concert is paradoxically both spectacular in scope and intimate in atmosphere. A musical tapestry is woven by the performers as they play, mesmerizing in its bright colors and all-encompassing beauty.
