Donald Brown All Stars in Clermont-Ferrand Jazz en Tête Festival 2017

About

Highly respected by his peers as one of the greatest composers of his generation, pianist Donald Brown has gathered an All Star band made up of Jean Toussaint on saxophones, Ed Cherry on guitar, Darryl Hall on basses, and Eric Harland on drums. The enlightened addition of Steve Nelson on vibraphone adds a wonderful world of sonic textures to the ensemble.

The bandleader's own compositions are on the program of this concert, filmed during the 2017 edition of the Jazz en Tête festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The Memphis magician is in top form for his 13th appearance on the famed stage, part of the event's 30th anniversary celebrations.
