Fred Wesley & the New JB's in Zurich The Moods 2018

About

For this concert in 2018 at the famous Moods Club in Zurich, Fred Wesley and his group, The New JB’s, bring back to life (as only they know how) some of the most iconic titles of funk—a genre filled with energy, refinement, rhythmic precision and stunning melodies.

A major figure in the styles of soul and funk, during the 60’s the trombonist, singer, arranger, and composer, Wesley was a pivotal engineer in the ‘James Brown sound’ alongside saxophonists Maceo Parker and Pee Wee Ellis. As part of the JB’s, these three musicians make up one of the most extraordinary brass sections in the history of funk.

This is just one of over 500 amazing jazz concerts available on medici.tv!
