Alexander Malofeev is a young Russian pianist, mostly famous with his outstanding appearance at the 8th International Tchaikovsky Competition for young musicians (2014), where he won the First Prize and achieved overall recognition. In 2016 Alexander Malofeev won the Grand Prix of the International Competition for Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition. In December 2017 Alexander became the owner of the title of "Young Yamaha Artist" in Japan.
Alexander Malofeev was born in Moscow in October 2001. Now the young pianist studies at the Gnessin Moscow Children’s School of Music with Elena Berezkina, Honoured Cultural Worker of Russia.
Alexander appeared with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev, Russian National Orchestra conducted by Dmitry Liss, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kazuki Yamada, State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky and others.
Alexander Malofeev is a laureate of many Russian and international competitions. The young pianist was awarded the Grand Prix and the Special Prize in the Ninth International Rachmaninoff Competition for Young Pianists (Novgorod, Russia, 2014), First Prize in the "Astana Piano Passion" International Competition for Young Pianists (Kazakhstan, 2013), Gran Prix in the "Musical Art" International Competition for Young Performers and Composers (Moscow, 2013), gold medal of the XI Youth Delphic Games of Russia (2012, 2015), Grand Prix in the ‘Mozart Wunderkind’ International Competition (Austria, 2011).
In July 2016 Alexander Malofeev released his debut DVD film, recorded by Master Performers label in the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre, Brisbane (Australia).
Alexander Malofeev holds a scholarship of the Vladimir Spivakov Charity Foundation, the "New Names" Charity Foundation and the Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation.
