Ludovic Tézier is from Marseille in France. He studied at the CNIPAL, then in 1996 at the school of Lyrical art at the "L'Opéra" in Paris, under Michel Senechal. He then joined a group in Lucerne. It is there, at the age of 22, that Ludovic Tézier performed a wide repertoire and his first major roles: Don Giovanni, Marcello in La Bohème, Escamillo, Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos, Sharpless, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Count Almaviva in the Marriage of Figaro. He then auditioned in front of Jean-Pierre Brossmann and joined a group at the Opéra in Lyon. In 1998 he won the Opéralia of Placido Domingo prize.
He was then regularly asked to perform by Nicolas Joel at the Capitole in Toulouse who offered him major roles such as Zurga (The Fishers of Pearls), Schaunard and the title roles in Hamlet, Eugène Onéguine, Don Giovanni. He also sang Silvio (Pagliacci), Grianznoï (The tsar's fiancé), Enrico in Lucia de Lammermoor in Lyon and at the Châtelet in Paris.He performed Wolfram (Tannhaüser) in Toulouse under the artistic direction of Nicolas Joel that Ludovic Tézier's career took off spectacularly.
Ludovic Tézier has perfomered with some of the greatest conductors John Eliot Gardiner, Evelino Pido, Myung-Whun Chung, Antonio Pappano, Riccardo Mutti. He participated at the most prestigious lyric festivals in the world: The Glyndebourne festival, the Bregenz festival, at Baden-Baden, Salzburg, Chorégies d'Orange. He has also perfomered at the Tel Aviv Opera, The Opera in Turin, The Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, Liceu in Barcelona, Bilbao, Staatsoper in Vienna.
In August 2010, he becomes "Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres."
