Mitsuko Uchida in conversation: she discusses her intellectual and technical approaches to the masterworks of keyboard literature and performs the works under discussion.
It is fascinating to watch and listen to the famous pianist as she discusses her spiritual and technical approaches to the masterworks of keyboard literature and then performs the works in question. Mitsuko Uchida, born in 1949 in Japan, came to Vienna at the age of 12. There she received her musical education. Today she is one of the most important Mozart players of our time, but her repertoire goes far beyond the standard classical period , including romantic works and modern compositions up to Debussy, Schonberg and other contemporaries. Our series is every bit as varied and fascinating as her repertoire.
