Young musicians from the Conservatory of Lausanne join the ranks of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra for a concert under the baton of Christian Zacharias. It is a beautiful encounter between two generations of musicians.
Created as his final work and dedicated to God, Symphony No. 9 in D minor by Anton Bruckner is the last he composed and would forever remain unfinished. It is, in the words of Hervé Klopfenstein, professor of management at the Conservatory, “a difficult work that is not lost in the collective unconscious of the next generation!”
This documentary takes us to the heart of the orchestra, to find out more about this symphony. The maestro's explanation echoed the students' testimonies. How is the first reading of a musical work so complex? How can you create unity between the different instruments? How do they understand their “ collaboration ” with professionals? These young musician's enthusiasm, commitment and quest for excellence certainly call for respect and admiration. Bravissimi!
