The Israeli double bass player Avishai Cohen got his shot when Chick Corea became an early chamoion of his music. This lead to Cohen signed a recording contract on Corea's label, following him on tour and recording an album with him: Adama. He later created his own label, Razdaz Records, and formed his trio path alongside the pianist Shai Maestro and the drummer Mark Guiliana. In 2008, they achieved success on the album Gently Disturbed.
Ten years later, the Israeli double bassist reunited with his two accomplices at this edition of the Jazz à la Villette festival. Maestro has established himself as one of the most sensitive pianists of his generation and Guiliana has distinguished himself through a playing style nourished by electro and pop music that led to collaborattions with Brad Mehldau and David Bowie. Their reunion on this Parisian stage is an event to behold.
