This concert, recorded in 2017 at the Jazzahead Festival, marks an opportunity for the Gilad Hekselman Trio to perform tracks from their 2016 album Homes, as well as three more tracks from their 2018 album Ask for Chaos. The headliner of the group is none other than Israli-born guitarist Gilad Hekselman, sideman of several great masters of the genre, including Pat Bianchi and Esperanza Spalding. On this occasion, bassist Rick Rosato and drummer Jonathan Pinson allow their leading jazz star to shine brighter than ever.
Perfecting his masterful technique in New York, Hekselman launched his career with a recording with label Small Records in 2006. His exceptional musical work has earned him the reputation of a contemporary rhythmic genius. After nine albums and several successful collaborations, he is now credited as a founding figure of the New York jazz scene.
