World-famous cellist and genre-crisscrossing cultural icon Yo-Yo Ma works with alumni cellists of the New World Symphony (NWS) in a series of five master classes. Michael Tilson Thomas, renowned orchestral conductor and co-founder of the NWS, contributes and facilitates the discussions.
Sébastien Gingras, a NWS alumnus, works with Yo-Yo Ma on Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A Minor. Together, they explore the work’s contrasting characters and their conception of the concerto as a whole.
