Hans Christian Aavik

Biographie

Hans Christian Aavik studied at the Tallinn Music High School, the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts under Erik Schumann and at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien where he studies with Julian Rachlin. He has appeared as a soloist with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Jyväskylä Sinfonia and released his debut CD in 2021 on Pilw Records. Hans Christian has received additional instruction and advice from musicians including Stephen Isserlis, Kolja Blacher, Mi-Kyung Lee, Sophia Rahman, Stephan Picard and Florian Donderer. He is a laureate of the Làszlò Spezzaferri International Music Competition (First Prize), the Eduard Tubin Estonian String Players Competition (First Prize) and the Kloster Schöntal International Violin Competition (Second Prize and Special Prize).
