Биография

Among the four principal singers, only two start as they mean to continue. From her first note to her last, Tamara Wilson's Aida displays a voice of distinctive beauty and apparently effortless power, warm and evenly produced throughout her considerable range…she is a sincere and sympathetic heroine.” Sarah Noble, The Opera Critic, July 14, 2009 – Title role in 'Aida' (role debut) at Opera Australia “Meanwhile, as his daughter Maria, raised as Amelia Grimaldi, soprano Tamara Wilson gives a performance that is both utterly grounded and soaring.” John Coulbourn, Toronto Sun, April 13, 2009 – Amelia Grimaldi in 'Simon Boccanegra' at the Canadian Opera Company (debut) “Wilson, who sang in HGO's fall production of Verdi's 'A Masked Ball', showed excellent control of her considerable power as well as good coloratura and range. Her outpouring of Konstanze's anguish over being separated from Belmonte was the best individual work of the evening.” Charles Ward, Houston Chronicle, January 19, 2008 – Konstanze in HGO’s 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail' “With a voice of steely beauty and great power,” (Houston Chronicle) soprano Tamara Wilson begins the 2009 – 2010 season as Alice Ford in 'Falstaff' for her debut with Washington National Opera. “A bona fide Verdi soprano,” Ms. Wilson made her Canadian Opera Company debut as Amelia Grimaldi in 'Simon Boccanegra' and Opera Australia debut in a new production of 'Aida' during the 2008 – 2009 season. Other Verdi roles have included Amelia in 'Un ballo in maschera' at Houston Grand Opera in which she “handled the role with authority and great musicality” (Opera News) and La Marchesa del Poggio in 'Un giorno di regno' with Wolf Trap Opera Company.
