Lorenzo Gatto’s career has been on an upward trajectory since his early childhood. At age 6 he participated in the RTBF Young Soloists Competition; at 17, he was received his diploma with distinction from the Brussels Conservatory; at 22, he arrived in second place at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition. Far from being a lone wolf, the young virtuoso founded the ensemble Trilogy with his friends the violinists Yossif Ivanov and Hrachya Avanesyan, and together they revisit the classics of every age, from Vivaldi to Daft Punk, in ingenious arrangements.
In this film, archives, interviews with his sister, and breathtaking aerial views help us discover the life of this musician of flamboyant imagination. As talented in the air as on the stage, Lorenzo takes us on a musical journey around the world, from Belgium to Israel by way of Amsterdam and Madrid. With his trio in a clip of the song “Crazy” on the banks of the Dead Sea, in a Beethoven sonata in the heart of a Tel Aviv suburb, or as part of a Mission Impossible-themed flash in Brussels, the violinist always holds to his high standard of musical excellence. The trip continues in Amsterdam, in Flagey and in Madrid with Lalo, Saint-Saëns, Beethoven, and gypsy airs... Let yourself be swept away by the deft bow of the prodigy violinist performing side by side with Maria João Pires, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Julien Libeer, Roby Lakatos, and many others!
