In early 2011, the UK's Daily Telegraph newspaper proclaimed that "classical guitar has a new hero". That ‘hero’ is Miloš Karadaglic of Montenegro.
From growing up in war-torn Yugoslavia and discovering a battered guitar in his parents' bedroom, to performing in concert halls around the world, the documentary film Heartstrings tells the story of Karadaglic’s love affair with the guitar. True to his self-proclaimed mission of wanting “to wake this instrument from hibernation", Karadaglic’s performances reaffirm the instrument’s rightful place in the world of classical music.
The documentary was filmed throughout 2012—the guitarist’s breakthrough year on the concert stage with sold-out debut performances and tours around the world—and details his life story up until that year.
