If quartets have become a common fixture of the jazz stage, one made up of four pianists and keyboardists is still quite a rarity! That is just what the Tourcoing Jazz Festival in Northern France has in store, with virtuosos Eric Legnini, Bojan Z, Pierre de Bethmann, and Baptiste Trotignon dazzling us with this unique experience.
Around two grand pianos and two Fender Rhodes, the talented improvisers switch instruments with ease, in a concert complete with genuine chemistry and enthusiasm. The musicians alternate between original compositions, standards, Be-bop classics, and Brazilian music, before ending on a high with a devilish rendition of Duke Ellington’s beloved Caravan.
