Anne Sofie von Otter and Marc Minkowski perform Canteloube and Mozart Verbier Festival 2010

About

In 2010, Anne Sofie von Otter joined the Verbier Festival Orchestra under the baton of Marc Minkowski to perform Canteloube’s Chants d’Auvergne. Mozart’s Symphony No. 39 ends the concert.

Experience a wonderful concert pairing 20th century French composer Canteloube with Mozart. Born in Auvergne, Canteloube immortalized his native region in the work Chants d’Auvergne (Songs of Auvergne), a set of arrangements for mezzo-soprano and orchestra of traditional songs. The beautiful work is followed up by Mozart’s Symphony No. 39, one of the composer’s most beloved works for orchestra.
