About

These two consummate artists have known each other for years, with the success of their collaborations a testament to the richness of their rapport: get a behind-the-scenes look as pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and conductor Zubin Mehta plan, discuss, and refine their interpretation in the 48 hours before the audience filters in. With the world-class Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, they will perform Robert Schumann’s only Piano Concerto, a masterpiece of profound emotion and structural harmony first performed by the great Clara Schumann in 1845. The concert unfolds under the Georgian skies of Tsinandali in the palace of prince and poet Alexander Chavchavadze, the “father of Georgian romanticism”—a storybook backdrop to appreciate the timeless beauty of this crown jewel of romanticism.
