Aziz Shokhakimov conducts Rossini, Mozart, and Bizet — With Stefan Dohr Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra

About

This marvelously high-energy concert from Strasbourg's Palais de la Musique et des Congrès gives place of honor to the undersung horn! Sit back and enjoy the world-class talents of horn player Stefan Dohr alongside the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the young prodigy Aziz Shokhakimov, set to become the orchestra's next musical and artistic director in September 2021. The program gets off to a rollicking start with Rossini's iconic William Tell Overture, which gives way to Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 4, blithe and bucolic. Finally, conductor and ensemble together interpret Bizet's lyrical and rhythmic Symphony in C Major, the composer's only contribution to the symphonic genre, guaranteed to raise the spirits.
