Concours de Genève 2023: String Quartet Semi-Final (Recital II/II) Concours de Genève — International Music Competition

About

The Concours de Genève - International Music Competition, founded in 1939 as the Concours International d'Exécution Musicale (CIEM), is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international music competitions. With the aim to discover, promote, and support young talented artists on the way to an international career, the Concours de Genève also has the distinction of spotlighting different disciplines in every edition. In 2023, string quartets and flutists have the chance to compete for the top prizes!

In this second of two semi-final string quartet rounds, the five remaining groups all perform their choice of Beethoven's 16 quartets, as well  as a contemporary work from a list that includes Berio, Carter, Donatoni, Dusapin, Harvey, Henze, Rihm, Saunders, and Sciarrino. The three ensembles selected to move on to the final round will take the stage at Geneva's famed Victoria Hall for one last challenge before a worldwide audience.
