Marina Viotti sings an all-Handel recital — With Marc Minkowski and Les Musiciens du Louvre At the historic Théâtre des Champs-Élysées

About

The unconventional, undeniable mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti — a "remarkable artist, with a fine, flexible, natural mezzo soprano voice that encompasses opera, jazz and metal" (Gramophone), and the 2023 Artist of the Year at France's prestigious Victoires de la musique classique — brings a spectacular all-Handel program to the famed Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. Taking the stage alongside Baroque specialist Marc Minkowski and his renowned period-instrument orchestra Les Musiciens du Louvre — who also perform several of the stately and elegant concerti grossi — Viotti takes on a selection of arias from Handel's greatest operas, including Dejanira's famous mad scene ("Where shall I fly") from Hercules and the sublime, plaintive "Ombra cara" from Radamisto.
