Tabea Zimmermann, Jean-Guihen Queyras, and the Belcea Quartet perform Brahms's String Sextets Konzerthaus Dortmund

About

When violist Tabea Zimmermann and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras joined the Belcea Quartet to perform Brahms's two string sextets in Hamburg in 2021, Bachtrack praised their "unified sound and well-formed understanding… Their technique was as impeccable as the balance between the four instruments." Not long after, their 2022 recording of the same works received a rave review from Gramophone's Andrew Farach-Colton, who heard "a tonal intensity the likes of which I've never encountered before in this music" and experienced "an entirely new perspective on pieces I thought I knew quite well." We're absolutely delighted, then, to bring you a live broadcast of these ingeniously crafted performances from the legendary Konzerthaus Dortmund: two instantly lovable chamber music masterpieces that sound brand-new in the hands of six world-class artists.
