Valery Gergiev conducts Bartók and Shostakovich – With Kristóf Baráti Verbier Festival 2019

About

For the opening concert of the 2019 Verbier Festival, conductor Valery Gergiev was reunited with the virtuoso violinist Kristóf Baráti! After their brilliant Festival performances in 2018, here they share the stage once more in a program perfect for their combined talents. From the crystalline music of Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2 to Shostakovich’s suspenseful Fifth Symphony, this beginning of yet another Verbier festival proved to be truly magnificent!
