The documentary series, Une histoire de la musique à travers ses instruments (A History of Music Through its Instruments), takes a look at the history of the instruments used in Western music. Here, you can find out more about the bagpipe.

The bagpipes are an instrument consisting of an air bag and a blow pipe (or chanter), pierced with several holes and one or more drones continuously playing a note. There are three main families of bagpipes. This instrument, which dates back to Roman times, appears in such diverse continents as Asia, North Africa and of course Europe.
