The music lessons
The lessons given during the last 10 years by Jean-François Zygel, the incomparable pianist and teacher, at the Town Hall of the 20th arrondissement in Paris and then in the Théâtre du Châtelet that the Production company Naïve filmed in recent years are famous.
They have helped us to gain a special insight into the works of Bartok, Chopin, Shostakovich, Debussy, Fauré, Mendelssohn, Ravel, and more recently Mozart and Schubert. During these music lessons, Jean-François Zygel presents the composers’ works, providing his own piano accompaniment, and is often joined by musicians. In this way he enables his audience to (re)discover part of the classical music repertoire from the inside, in a manner which is both fun and original.
