Nigerian drummer and composer Tony Allen is considered the founding father of Afrobeat. He invented this rhythm at the end of the 60s alongside Fela Kuti, with whom he recorded more than thirty albums. Pursuing a solo career, the drummer expands his musical horizons with electro, rock, Malian music, hip-hop, jazz, with celebrated artists including Seun Kuti, Manu Dibango, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Oumou Sangaré, and Damon Albarn.
