The internationally acclaimed pianist Lars Vogt, performing together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig under the baton of Riccardo Chailly one of the most popular classical works ever written: Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor.
If you do not know Edvard Grieg, it is enough to inquire on the inheritance which its work left with the offspring: in 1942, Freddy Martin's American orchestra of jazz recorded a swing version of the first movement, arranged by Ray Austin and condensed in 2:30 minutes on a fox-trot rhythm, with Jack Fina at the piano; then in 1997, the first movement is used in Adrian Lyne's movie, Lolita.
