Acclaimed jazz guitarist Bill Frisell gives us a joyful, moving survey of the music of one of the twentieth-century's most widely-appreciated songwriters: John Lennon! Frisell has long seen jazz as a lens through which we can explore history and this concert from the 2012 edition of Jazz à la Villette is a prime example of his ability to put his own spin on iconic music and encourage listeners to experience songs they know inside out just a little bit differently.
