Comme chaque année au mois de mai, l'Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin célèbre sa création en 1882 à l'occasion d'un concert de gala : l'Europakonzert. Cette année, l'orchestre et son directeur musical Sir Simon Rattle invitent l'une des mezzo soprano les plus recherchées de la scène actuelle, la tchèque Magdalena Kožená.
